Ordinary? Na.
Home is in the details. Ordinary Neighborhoods finds the extra in the ordinary and the beauty in the small things that make home - home.
The Story of Ordinary Neighborhoods
Ordinary Neighborhoods started on a walk with my son in 2024. It was May, and the magnolias near our house were so thick on the trees that the smell was making me queasy.
My son loves maps, stats, and random facts about random places. That day, he asked, “Did you know magnolias were around before bees?”
We were walking past ancient relics without giving them much thought. It struck me that every hometown has stories and details like these, things that make a place what it is but rarely travel beyond its borders. I wanted to tell those stories through art.
I'm drawn to places most people have never heard of. Deweyville, Utah. Shoeheel, North Carolina. Hanapepe, Kauaʻi. Places with a character and history all their own.
Ordinary Neighborhoods gives these hometowns their due through original art and design, one small town and one exceptional piece at a time.
Hometown stories, made well.

Meet the Artist
I'm Cason Tucker. I grew up in Northeast Florida and studied fine art and graphic design at Flagler College. I come from a family of artists, architects, and designers, so making things has always been a big part of my life. My dad literally built my childhood swingset three times, at three different homes. We also didn't have TV, so the boredom fueled a hyperactive imagination, to say the least.
For the past 20 years, I've worked as a creative director and graphic designer, guiding creative work and teams.
When I'm not making art for this little project, I'm designing brands for clients at Extraordinary Brand Studio (where we find the “extra” in our clients' ordinary). We define strategy and design brands, websites, campaigns, and environmental art for mission-driven clients across the U.S.
